Aim of the resource

Open Source Medical Supplies (OSMS) was created in March 2020 in order to research and disseminate open source plans for medical supplies that are used to treat and reduce the spread of COVID-19 and can be fabricated locally.
In only 9 weeks there have been produced around 7.2 million items by volunteers all around the world engaging over 200 Local Response groups in 50 countries. These items include face shields, cloths and N95 masks, ear savers and 20 design categories.
OSMS materials are being translated into 40 languages to localize information and to collaborate more actively with medical professionals as well as makers and manufacturers.

OSMS provides two useful guides:
- a medical supply guide (the one we are proposing in this resource)
- a collection of best practices and specific instructions to create and distribute medical supplies to places that need them.

The OSMS COVID-19 Medical Supply Guide gives information on the utility, availability, and manufacturability of 20+ key categories of personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies (you can find all the items in the Project Library link), collaboratively researched by a team of medical advisers and 73k member of the Facebook Group. The current version of the guide (3.1) includes 90+ open source designs for a wide range of manufacturing capabilities, best to keep checking for updates.

How to use it
